It is important to know that Münster is a bicycle city, you will see bikes everywhere. If it is convenient for you, you may rent a bike at the Radstation [German only] at the Münster central station. Prices are 7 € per day, 16 € per 3 days and 30 € for a whole week. You can get further discounts if you arrive by train and purchase a "city ticket" with your regular rail ticket.
Trains from all directions arrive at Münster Central Station. For further information, please consult the homepage of the Deutschen Bahn AG.
The nearest airport is Münster-Osnabrück Airport , 20km north of Münster. From here you can reach the city either by bus (line S50, D50, R51) or taxi. The bus takes 35-50 minutes. The travel time by taxi is usually shorter but also considerably more expensive.
International flights to Frankfurt, Düsseldorf, Dortmund, Munich, and Amsterdam (Netherlands) all have reasonable connections to Muenster either by plane or by train, depending on your time and budget.
Public transportation in Münster
From Münster Osnabrück International Airport ('Flughafen Münster-Osnabrück, FMO'), bus transfer to the central station (Hauptbahnhof) Münster (lines S50, D50, R51). From Münster Hauptbahnhof by bus lines 11, 12, 13 and 22 to bus stop Landgericht Line, 20 to bus stop Hindenburgplatz, Line 5 and 6 to bus stop Überwasserstraße.
Arriving from north via A1, exit Münster-Nord and head straight for the Hindenburgplatz, then turn to the right at Münster Castle. Arriving from south via A43, exit Münster-Süd and head straight for the Hindenburgplatz, then turn to the left at Münster Castle.
Taxis are located at the central station on the left hand side, coming out of the city-sided exit of the station.
